Regardless of education, licensure or experience, foreign-trained dentists who wish to practice dentistry in Ontario must be registered or licenced as a member with the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario.

To obtain this Certificate of Registration or licence, graduates of international dental programs outside of Canada or the United States must first successfully complete a full-time, two-year qualifying program at a Canadian university before they are eligible to sit the National Dental Examining Board of Canada (NDEB) examination.
