We work in the public interest by putting patients first. We are committed to transparency, accessibility, and fairness in all of our work. We protect the public’s right to quality dental services by providing leadership to the dental profession in regulation.

Over the next three years, we are working towards building stronger connections with our stakeholders and community partners, with a proactive and measured approach to fulfill our mandated responsibilities and operational planning. Our Neighbourhood

We offer a flexible hybrid work environment. The majority of our staff work remotely with the opportunity to come into the office as needed. Our virtual neighbourhood includes a vibrant intranet site and regular bi-weekly meetings with our Registrar/CEO and other senior leaders on Zoom. We use Microsoft Teams to keep in touch with our team members throughout the day and encourage colleagues to have regular coffee chats with each other to stay connected.

Our fully accessible building is located directly across from Rosedale subway station. Many of our staff may take public transit to work, and travel from all over the general Toronto area. Rosedale subway station is undergoing renovations and will also be fully accessible in 2024.

Nearby amenities that are within a five-minute walk from our office include:

  • Variety of restaurants and shops
  • Major shopping mall
  • Daycare centre
  • Fitness clubs
  • Park and walking trails
  • Toronto Reference Library

Work environment

A little down time can help strengthen working relationships. We have a great engagement committee that organizes various in-person and virtual events throughout the year, where staff get a chance to relax and get to know one another. It is also a great opportunity for new staff to meet the team and people from other departments. We also hold in-person town hall meetings once a year.

Our team members also have the opportunity to participate in important working groups on topics like equity, diversity and inclusion, joint occupational health and safety, service standards, and peer-to-peer support.

Work/Life Balance

In the summer (July 1st to September 1st), staff enjoy five-hour workdays every Friday.

To allow our staff some flexibility in their work day, we also offer alternative work arrangements, including compressed work weeks, flexible work hours and reduced hours work weeks.

We believe evenings and weekends are meant to allow you to focus on your life outside of work, so we encourage leaders and staff to disconnect outside of scheduled hours.
