Sedation & CT applications for authorization: Requirement for current training or experience

The Quality Assurance Committee (QAC) has confirmed that dentists applying for authorization to administer sedation or to prescribe, order, take, interpret and/or report on dental CT scans must demonstrate current training or experience when submitting their application.

What is current training or experience?

Dentists who are applying to perform these clinical acts in practice for the first time must have completed training in the one year preceding the date they submit their application.

Dentists who have performed the clinical acts in practice in the past (either in Ontario or in a different jurisdiction) and are applying to resume these clinical acts in Ontario must have performed the clinical acts in practice within the three-years preceding the date they submit their application.
