COVID-19 Update - Ministry of Health PPE Survey
We’ve received a number of inquiries from dentists regarding the Ministry of Health’s PPE inventory survey. The survey was produced by the Ministry, and the College was asked to let you know about it.
The College is not responsible for the survey content, information collection or analysis. If you have questions, reach out to Ontario Health’s PPE Survey help-desk at 416-687-8445. This line is available 7 days per week, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Or email: ca_ppesurveysupport@pwc.com
Webinars are available to help you complete the survey. The next one is Thursday, April 2nd, 11:30am-12:30pm: Click here to join.
We called the help desk and found it useful! To help you, we are passing along some questions and answers.
What is the purpose of the survey?
The goal is to determine gaps in supply and need for PPE. This will assist in determining distribution and allocation strategies to allocate PPE where it is most needed. Those who want to donate or have already made arrangements to donate PPE supplies can indicate so in the comments section, but that is not the intent of the survey.
Is it mandatory for dentists to complete the survey?
Yes, by Order of the Minister of Health, as clarified in a separate note from the Ministry to the College instructing that dentists are included. You can read the order here. The Ministry has interpreted “All centres, programs or services for community health or mental health whose primary purpose is the provision of health care” very broadly to include physicians, dentists and other healthcare providers in the community.
