COVID-19: Guidance for the Use of Teledentistry
The College released guidance on emergency screening of dental patients using teledentistry on March 26, 2020.
This updated version permits dentists to use teledentistry for some non-essential services as appropriate, while maintaining physical distancing:
We see teledentistry playing a critical role in dental care both now, in the current state of emergency and going forward when Ontario begins to return to a ‘new normal’.
Note: the RCDSO has not been informed when wider access to in-person dental care will be allowed. Our strong recommendation remains in place: practices should remain closed for in–person care except for emergency or urgent care.
We continue to develop a broader strategy and guidance for returning to practice.
