COVID-19: Memo from the CMOH re: Aerosol-Generating Dental Procedures

The Chief Medical Officer of Health has issued a memo regarding precautions for health workers in dental settings where aerosol-generating dental procedures are conducted.

The College's Guidance on managing infection risks during in-person dental care follows Directive #2 from the CMOH. Our May 31 guidance remains in effect and is available on our website by clicking here. Our guidance reflects the most current direction from the CMOH, best available evidence, expert opinion and follows the precautionary principle.

We continue to work collaboratively with the Ministry of Health and cooperatively with all of our stakeholders to ensure our guidance continues to align with directives from the province to protect the public.

Should there be a change in Directive #2 from the Chief Medical Officer of Health, our guidance will be amended as needed.
