COVID-19 Update - Non-urgent procedures are permitted

The Chief Medical Officer of Health for Ontario announced today that Directive #2 has been rescinded. As a result, “…non-urgent and non-emergent surgeries and procedures may be gradually resumed by health care providers and health care entities who were subject to that Directive.“

Note that the provincial “stay-at-home” order is in effect until at least June, 2, 2021.

All Ontario dentists should continue to follow the RCDSO’s guidance, COVID-19: Managing infection risks during person dental care. The College continues to strongly recommend enhanced precautions are taken for all procedures.

Further information and resources are available in our FAQs on COVID-19. The College continues to monitor and update this guidance as necessary.
