Complaints & Reports Outcomes

Case File: 24-0672
Decision Date:
September 08, 2025
Caution
As a result of a complaint, the Inquiries, Complaints and Reports Committee decided to caution Dr. Wajahat Ali Khan as follows:
•	The Committee cautions the Dentist about his patient management, specifically, his decision to prescribe multiple rounds of antibiotics and not appoint a symptomatic patient for endodontic treatment in a timely manner. The Dentist’s ethical responsibility is to treat patients in a timely manner. The Committee cautions the Dentist that if he is unable to provide treatment in a timely manner, he should consider offering patients a referral to another dentist (general dentist or specialist) who could provide the necessary treatment.
•	The health and well-being of your patient should be your paramount responsibility. The Committee cautions the Dentist against dividing his attention between two patients by performing two significant dental procedures in two different operatories at the same time thereby not giving either patient the focus and attention that they deserve.
•	The Dentist is cautioned about his lack of insight and reflection in this case. Rather than taking the opportunity to reflect on his conduct and consider ways in which he could have done things differently, the Dentist blamed the Complainant and wrote that the allegations were defamatory, which the Committee does not accept. The Committee cautions the Dentist about this lack of professionalism.
