COVID-19 Update: New Regional Restrictions
The Government of Ontario has announced important changes to its COVID-19 Response Framework. Among those changes is the decision to move Toronto and Peel Region into the Grey, or “Lockdown” category, effective Monday November 23rd at 12:01 am. “Lockdown” is the most restrictive category and includes wide scale measures and restrictions.
The changes have been made in response to persistently high rates of community transmission of COVID-19 in many areas of the province.
The Chief Medical Officer of Health said today that further details on the implications for health care practitioners would be provided soon.
In the meantime the RCDSO urges all dentists in Ontario to read the COVID-19 Response Framework to determine the current conditions in your public health area.
Continue to follow the guidance set out in the College’s COVID-19: Managing Infection Risks during In-Person Dental Care document; in particular follow the red, orange and grey expectations in the supplemental guidance.
